With over 18 years’ experience in the Credit Union industry, Mark’s first position at a Credit Union was as a card services specialist. Quickly promoted through the organization, he was later responsible for building and managing a new department charged with overseeing software systems and corresponding vendors. There he managed the core platform, loan origination systems, internet banking, CRM, IVR/VRU, loan documentation and ancillary systems.

Mark went on to work at various Credit Unions holding critical positions, such as manager/director of Enterprise Projects and director of Product and Offers. He became proficient in issue resolution, project management, vendor management and contract review/negotiations.

Over the course of his career, Mark has successfully completed several key projects, including two mergers, a data center move, multiple branch closings, an internet banking conversion, credit card conversions/rollouts, a loan origination system conversion, a document management system implementation and core system upgrades.

Mark has worked with Samaha & Associates assisting Credit Unions with core system conversions, online banking conversions and other IT-related projects for more than three years.

A graduate from Western CUNA Management School, Monsees also holds a Master’s Degree in Business from California State University Fullerton. He has served on volunteer boards as a treasurer and chaired several user community groups in the credit union community.

Mark and his wife live in Orange, CA and cheer for both the UC Davis Aggies and the University of Washington Huskies where their two sons attend. He and his family have raised, and painstakingly trained, four puppies to serve as Guide Dogs for the Blind. Mark likes science fiction movies because (being a fantastic project manager) he enjoys thinking about what the future holds.
